I apologize if this is not what you want...please discard it if i am not in the correct place to make comments.
I only wanted to thank you for taking the time and making this effort to teach about Torah and Tanach in their correct places in scripture and how they both affect us as believers in Y'shua.
Many times i have come across people that are either Jewish or Christian and they both tell me the same things about the Tanach (O.T.) and the NT. The Jews tell me that the OT is not for us as gentiles and the christians tell me that the OT is not for us as believers. But neither of them will answer me when i ask them exactly what scripture then did Y'shua use because the NT had not be written/compiled yet....if HE didnt use the OT?
Everything HE referred to in scripture was OT SCRIPTURE.
Then i get blank stares when i hear people teach the teachings of Paul incorrectly too. I ask them what scripture was Paul using? He was in the process of writing the NT that they are teaching from...so what did HE use? I came out of a gay lifestyle myself. And i know how deceptive the teachers in that kind of church can be. And i also testify that it was in the Tenach that HaShem taught me that being a lesbian was wrong! Was and is an abomination to HIM! And so HE was able to rescue me from that lifestyle! So for a long time i personally have seen how Torah has a purpose of teaching us truth, by showing us what sin is! Its up to us to choose to believe YHWH or not! Because it is OT does not make it void or any the less TRUTH!
Its NOT a case of perception. I get that from Jews and Christians both. And i have come to realize that Jews are zealously Jealous of their scriptures! And they dont want us as Messianic Believers to use them! So in that way i cannot trust many Jewish people , just as i cannot trust very many christian people. Thus i have to like the Berean to survive!
Thank you for shooting this arrow of teaching Rabbi Trimm. Because it has put a clearer focus on the things i knew i knew but could not say just right. i will be printing these lessons off for myself and for others that dont have the computer.
